Project Summary

New Songdo City is a new urban development of over 350 buildings including residential, schools, retail, commercial, civic, and more. The new city, targeted for completion in 2012, is being designed to house 65,000 residents and will have a workforce of 300,000 people. The development is being designed and constructed to LEED for Neighborhood Development guidelines and each of the 350 buildings on the site will be LEED certified.

YR&G Role
YR&G coordinated the LEED for Neighborhood Development certification process, and developed an overarching set of design principles for New Songdo City. In addition, YR&G offered strategic guidance with the project’s overall sustainability goals, carbon footprint initiative, and marketing and branding support.
